About the ACS Domestic Gas Safety and Appliances – Refresher Course

This reassessment program is suitable for professional gas engineer who want to renew competency for Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) and relevant Appliance scope extensions.

The reassessment program consists primarily of self-study, with learners having access to the latest manuals to confirm and refresh their knowledge. Assessment takes place over 2 or 3 days and involves practical demonstration and completing question papers.

Add Appliance scope extensions to your competency

Why not include some new Appliance “bolt-ons” to your reassessment? Include just one additional Appliance or complete reassessment for CENWAT, CKR1, and HTR1

Did you know you’re able to renew your ACS qualification 6 months prior to its expiry and still retain the original expiration date? Complete reassessment before your competency expires to add scope extensions to your ACS qualification even sooner.

How is the ACS Domestic Gas Safety and Appliances Reassessment program delivered?

The assessment takes place over a number of days (between 2 and 3), at our Stafford training centre. You’ll participate in a blend of observed practical assessment and paper tests.

The majority of learning is delivered via self-study; however, our qualified gas engineers are on hand to support or advice on appliance scope extensions.

Here are some of the scope extensions we can assess:

  • Central heating boilers and water heaters (CENWAT)

  • Cookers (CKR1)

  • Gas fires (HTR1)

  • Domestic gas meters (MET1)

  • Unsafe situations procedure

  • Gas safety regulations 1998
