About the Air Source Heat Pump Systems (Level 3) – Focused Course

This specialist course gives learners the chance to develop the specialist expertise necessary to begin installing and maintaining air source heat pumps.

This technology allows domestic and commercial users to draw energy from the air to heat sites and buildings. When used correctly, a heat pump system is designed to reduce reliance on traditional heating methods such as central heating, creating a cheaper and more sustainable heating process.

As a focused course, your learning programme will be built around the installation, maintenance and ongoing servicing of air source heat pump systems. You will learn:

  • how to complete the preparatory work required for the installation of an air source heat pump

  • the common requirements for the installation of an air source heat pump connected to hydraulic emitter circuits

  • how to install heat pump units (non-refrigeration units)

  • how to test and commission an air source heat pump system (non-refrigerant circuits)

  • how to undertake the non-refrigerant circuit routine service and maintenance of an air source heat pump system (non-refrigerant circuits)

  • and more.

Once you earn your LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Heat Pump Systems (non-refrigerant circuits), you will be eligible to become a member of:

The course is designed for learners from a heating background (wet central heating systems), allowing them to establish a strong knowledge of in the installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems (specifically non-refrigerant circuits).
