Our skills bootcamp is funded and accredited program of courses, giving people the opportunity to increase or build up sector-specific skills in air source heat pump and low-temperature system design. To help career progression, gain new business opportunities or employment.
Our Skills Bootcamp is funded by The Department for Education, as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping with gaining skills for life. Offering Level 3 accredited courses that will enable you to build up essential renewable sector skills.
All of our courses are accredited by LCL Awards and are aligned to MCS. Our trainers individually have over 12 years of experience in delivering Heat Pump Courses, as well as designing Heat Pump Systems. And carrying out technical audits. So you are in good hands.
The programme is funded to companies, employees or individuals based in the Cheshire & Warrington regions. Funding is FREE (100%) to unemployed or self-employed individuals (sub-contractors) or there is a small contribution required from SME’s where they are retraining their own staff (10% contribution to the cost of each person).
This programme therefore could be used in a number of ways, such as to:
- Upskill current staff or yourself (if self- employed/sub-contractor)
- Move into an in-demand growth sector within green/renewable technologies
- Increase the range +/ volume of work you or your business could be accepting
- Be used as a talent pool to take on new employees already qualified (no training costs)
The programme offers the following:
- Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems (non-refrigerant circuits)
- Level 3 Award in Low-Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings
- Mandatory Pre-requisites required such as WRAS Water Regulations/Water Byelaws or equivalent
** These qualifications would enable registration with MCS under the scope of Heat Pump Installation (MIS 3005-1) and Design (MIS3005-D) **
Who is it for?
Anyone looking into environmental technologies, such as heat pumps. Participants must as a minimum already hold:
- An NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing; or
- Be gas competent and hold a current CCN1 & CENWAT; or
- Hold oil (OFTEC) or biomass competencies
Who is eligible?
Adults aged 19 and over, living or working in Cheshire or Warrington, employed*, self employed or un-employed.
